An estimated 513,000 women and girls in the U.S. are at risk of or have undergone FGM/C
(Goldberg, et al., 2016).
FGM/C happened to white women in the U.S.
U.S. citizen girls who were born in immigrant families who have migrated from countries that practice FGM/C are considered at risk.
